Gaza City, April 6, 2025 —
Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have killed at least 46 people in the past 24 hours, according to health authorities in the besieged enclave. The bombardment, described by residents and officials as “continuous,” has targeted several areas across the Gaza Strip, intensifying a conflict that has already caused widespread devastation.
Local hospitals, already overwhelmed by months of fighting, report severe shortages of medical supplies and equipment. Emergency workers say many victims remain trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings, with rescue efforts hampered by ongoing strikes and a lack of resources.
Israel’s military stated the strikes were aimed at Hamas infrastructure and militants following a series of cross-border attacks. However, Palestinian officials say that many of the casualties are civilians, including women and children.
The escalation comes amid mounting international pressure for a ceasefire. United Nations officials have renewed calls for an immediate halt to hostilities, warning of a growing humanitarian catastrophe.
The situation on the ground remains fluid, with residents describing the last 24 hours as some of the deadliest since the latest conflict began.
